Warm wishes GG

Mia seems to be a bit more pleasant, caring and creative this morning. Amazing what a good rest will do for a kiddo. So we recorded this get well message for GG (Shane's nana on his mom's side). At the end of the video Mia heads off to actually look for GG. All morning long she has said "Whereareyougg?"

GG get well

We wanted to put together a cute video letting GG (Mia's great grandmother) know that we were thinking of her while she's in the hospital. I am not sure this is Mia's best moment. But alas get well GG. We love you

Mia's first day at "playschool"

Yes pictures were taken outside of Mia's new daycare...I'm hoping we're not the first
The snow here in Maine is up to the mailboxes
Here you can barely see Mia...waving goodbye to mommy yelling "haveaoodday" No tears were shed by her

The first toy she grabbed was a fake phone that looked like a remote. The staff at Foothill thought it was hilarious that she was trying to turn on the ceiling light and fan with a remote. Little did they know that she mastered this skill at Situ's house over thankhahakamas.

Mia of course had to check everything out. She ran around and checked out the kids, the staff (giving the staff many of whom she had just met big hugs) and then off she went to see the kitchen and to see the potty

Shane called around mid morning to check in on her. They had been outside already. We gather Mia was a little cranky and cold outside (Can you blame her its is 20 degrees out) She grazed well at lunch, slept (how did they do that?) and played with "kidz" as she calls anyone bigger than her and "babies" as she calls anyone smaller than her. Shane picked her up around 2:30. Good day for all. Thanks RAH

Obama is now President

This blog entry is going to be more text based than pictures. I want to make sure I capture our sentiments about this day in history. So Perrin watched the festivities while at work. Her boss was crying, some of her colleagues were hugging. All came together and paused to witness a new President take office. Shane watched from home, while Mia slept. He said he even teared up on occasion. That evening at home Mia decided that she had to wear this outfit this way. Watch out world there's no stopping us is I think what she was getting at with her determination and style choices. She watched the parade and kept pretending to march and play a drums. When Obama was on the TV she would say '....see a daddy....ook a daddy...." It was refreshing to hear her describe our new President in that manner. She would also yell (with some prompting) "...yeah baMa.."

Mia help make the bed

Mia finds it fun to play hide and "peak" these days

Painting projects

Mia paints almost every day, but usally its how we encourage her to get into the tubbie...We let her paint on the walls of the tub and on herself with washable paint and then everything gets to be covered with soap and rinsed off. We tried to have her paint out of the tub the other day (we were painting projects for thankhakamas)...and go figure she painted on herself..Don't you love the blue lipstick?

More x-mas 2008 pictures

Everyone was good sports about wearing their handmade matching pjs....THANKS Mia and (No)Annie, Perrin's sisters new name, enjoyed moments of snuggling in between meals and sessions of coloring
"Anta" as Mia calls the jolly old soul was very good to all of us.

Mia waited paitently during all of the hoopla. In fact it took us over 8 hours to open all of the gifts

We'd open a few gifts, eat a meal, nap , then play a game or play with playdough and start the whole process over again

X-mas 2008 at our Home in South Berwick

Believe it or not we fit 7 adults, one kiddo and a cat into our home over the holidays

One of Perrin's favorite holiday memories from my childhood was putting luminarias out on X-mas eve. I'm sure our neighbors think we're pyros as the driveway and the street were illuminated with luminarias filled with Folly Beach sand
Rah and Nina and Mia all helped in the kitchen to get things ready (certainly not the best picture though it brings back memories from x-mas in July)

Mia's growing up so quickly

Mia is growing up so quickly...She practices her alphabet by saying "p" pa...and every time she see's letters she calls out random vowels. She likes to count money but never starts at one.

We'll upload x-mas photos soon

Happy New Year to all
